Inspiration Monday :: Smile (and spread love)!

Let us always meet each other with smile, for the smile is the beginning of love.
~Mother Teresa

We've all heard the saying that, a smile can light up a room.
And it's really true.
Has the smile from a family member, friend or even a stranger, left you feeling uplifted? Loved?

There are lots of proven reasons why smiling makes us, and those around us, feel so good.

Smiling makes us attractive. People want to get to know a friendly, smiling person!
Smiling changes our mood.  It's contagious. And will shift the energy in a room.
Smiling relieves stress and therefore boosts your immune system. It keeps you healthy AND relaxed!
Smiling lowers blood pressure, releases natural endorphins, pain killers and serotonin.
It's scientifically proven.
SMILE! And spread the love.

As you go about your daily activities today -- try smiling at a stranger.
Just once.
And see what happens...

Inspiration Monday :: Love is Beautiful!

“Love is a promise, love is a souvenir, once given never forgotten, never let it disappear.”
~John Lennon

With Valentine's Day tomorrow, we got to thinking about lovebirds.
Did you know that lovebirds were named because of their habit of cuddling next to one another and because once mated they can't survive without each other.
Even in nature we find love, loyalty, devotion.  It is a part of human nature to strive to love and be loved.

Take a moment this Valentine's Day and send a sweet note to all the "lovebirds" in your life. List all of the ways they make your world a better place. Tell them the many reasons why you love them!

Let us know who the "lovebirds" in your life are - and how you will be celebrating them this Valentine's Day!  Comment below or post on our Facebook page.

Wishing you a Happy Valentine's Day!

A little bite about PieTisserie...

PieTisserie offers unique takes on classic pies, made with whole, fresh and frequently local, organic ingredients.
PieTisserie began after Oakland resident Jaynelle St. Jean staged a window of her mother's home as an iconic county window, with homemade pies set out to cool. Compelled to create her own small town in the city, she gave away slices to passersby willing to eat with neighbors. Jaynelle launched, PieTisserie, making it her mission to fill the need for unique and delicious pies, and to remind people of the importance of pleasant surprises close to home via her Random Acts of Sweetness.
Stop by the store Monday or Tuesday to pick-up these sweet treats for your love!

Inspiration Monday :: It begins with Love

Happy Monday!
This week we begin a new theme for February's Inspiration Monday's: Love.

"Love is the beauty of the soul."
~Saint Augustine

We are all seeking love. The love of our partner. The love of family and friends. Self love. The latter of these is the cornerstone and foundation for true, lasting love. Love begins at home - with you.
The relationship with yourself will be the longest lasting relationship of your lifetime.
How will you practice self-love this week? What are your favorite self-care rituals?

Take a moment and let us know. Comment below or post your insights on our Facebook page.

Have a lovely week!
