"Although beauty may be in the eye of the beholder,
the feeling of being beautiful exists solely in the mind of the beheld."
~ Martha Beck
Rather than waiting for someone to tell you how beautiful you are, try telling yourself. Look at
yourself in the mirror and just say it. While we all have insecurities about our looks, true beauty is something that comes from within; a light, a glow, something shown through a smile or through the eyes. Part of that comes from confidence and knowing that you are a beautiful soul, a gift to the universe. Remind yourself every day of just how beautiful you really are...the rest of the world will catch on soon enough.
"Always aim at complete harmony of thought and word and deed.
Always aim at purifying your thoughts
and everything will be well."
~ Mahatma Gandhi
Sometimes our mind can be a very cluttered place. Thoughts constantly racing, anxieties and anticipation, lists of to-do's and things to remember. But if we can find that one moment in our day to do whatever it is that makes us feel calm or centered, we will be doing the whole world a service.
Maintaining a clear mind and setting a path for yourself creates positive energy and a sense of balance, as well as overall harmony.
Life is crazy sometimes. Chaos becomes routine, we build boundaries for ourselves
in order to maintain balance and set rules for ourselves. But every once in a while, its just more fun to break the rules...even the ones we make for ourselves.
Every once in a while its ok to cheat on your diet, skip a work out to go shopping, call in sick to enjoy the sunshine, or dip into your savings for that dream vacation. While having a routine and rules is all fine and well, sometimes you just gotta shake things up a bit and live life a little differently.
Breaking the rules every now and then can instill a sense of confidence and
independence that sometimes gets lost in everyday life. Plus, sometimes its just fun to let your inner bad girl out every now and then.
"Enlightenment is always there. Small enlightenment will bring great
enlightenment. If you breathe in and are aware that you are alive—that
you can touch the miracle of being alive—then that is a kind of
~ Thich Nhat Hahn
Something as simple as a deep breath can change who we are in a single moment. With all of the frustrations, tasks, and emotions involved in a single day, a deep breath can help us feel centered, focused, and alive. Whenever you start to feel overwhelmed or flustered, inhale as deep as you can and then let all of the days stress flow out of you as you exhale. This will clear your mind and allow you to feel enlightenment every day.
