A little bite about PieTisserie...

PieTisserie offers unique takes on classic pies, made with whole, fresh and frequently local, organic ingredients.
PieTisserie began after Oakland resident Jaynelle St. Jean staged a window of her mother's home as an iconic county window, with homemade pies set out to cool. Compelled to create her own small town in the city, she gave away slices to passersby willing to eat with neighbors. Jaynelle launched, PieTisserie, making it her mission to fill the need for unique and delicious pies, and to remind people of the importance of pleasant surprises close to home via her Random Acts of Sweetness.
Stop by the store Monday or Tuesday to pick-up these sweet treats for your love!

Inspiration Monday :: It begins with Love

Happy Monday!
This week we begin a new theme for February's Inspiration Monday's: Love.

"Love is the beauty of the soul."
~Saint Augustine

We are all seeking love. The love of our partner. The love of family and friends. Self love. The latter of these is the cornerstone and foundation for true, lasting love. Love begins at home - with you.
The relationship with yourself will be the longest lasting relationship of your lifetime.
How will you practice self-love this week? What are your favorite self-care rituals?

Take a moment and let us know. Comment below or post your insights on our Facebook page.

Have a lovely week!

Get to know our designers :: Erin Fetherston

We're welcoming some wonderful new designers to McMullen this month.
One that we've been anxiously awaiting the arrival of, is none other than the fabulously talented, Erin Fetherston!

Erin Fetherston, a Bay Area native, presented her first collection in 2004, establishing her signature ~ beautiful, feminine looks.  Whimsical and with a distinct romantic sensibility, she has earned a devoted following of press and celebrities over the years.

Her Spring 2012 collection is infused with a girlish, 1960's mod-vibe that we're absolutely crazy about!  Below you'll find photos from the collection as well as a beautiful post on Erin we found at Tales of Endearment

Enjoy!

Tall, pale-skinned and strikingly blond, Fetherston is the ideal model for her clothes, which call to mind little girls at a garden tea party and rare birds in flight. There are organza party dresses, cascades of ruffles and a crimson hooded cape that is perfect for Little Red Riding Hood.

“I would like to be the Betsey Johnson for the next generation!” I overhear Erin confide in a captivated audience of fans at Jane Pratt’s website launch dinner. Dressed in a slinky black dress with plunging neckline, rocking her new Vidal Sassoon-inspired bleach blonde bob and a pair of stern, black reading glasses, 20-something Erin Fetherston only remotely reminds me of the cartwheeling Alley Cat, but her work as a designer has surely earned her a comparable cult-following amongst fashion-fabulous teens and celebrities.

Get to know our designers :: Lela Tillem Becker and Tim Kaeding of Mother

We're so excited to announce the addition of a chic new denim line to the roster at McMullen!
Mother was co-founded in 2010 by Lela Tillem Becker and Tim Kaeding. Prior to starting their line, Lela was President of Sales at Citizens of Humanity and Tim headed the Design department at 7 for All Mankind.
They are definitely a dynamic (denim) duo!

Below you'll find a bit more information about the line as well as some photos of their current pieces and a peek at their "Mood Book" for this season (so gorgeous)!
We also found a great in-depth interview with Tim on The Brander - super inspiring.
Check it out below!

Enjoy!

Getting to know
Lela Tillem Becker & Tim Kaeding ~ founders, Mother

Shying from the much-digested notion of heritage jeans, Mother is a play on opposites.
A study in irony, it feels soft and nurturing, while presenting itself as stark and sexy.

"Our idea was to create a brand that captured the excitement of our
own newfangled denims. We are able to add a new element to
the way people wear jeans in fit fabric finish and now feel"

Interview with Tim Kaeding on The Brander

Neither the recession nor a glutted market were able to keep designer Tim Kaeding from starting a new premium jeans label. And, though only just on the market, MOTHER Denim already emanates the aura of an iconic label. This is not esoteric, but the result of resolute policy – as becomes apparent when we talk to Tim Kaeding, founder and co-proprietor of MOTHER Denim in Los Angeles.
