Weekly Inspiration :: Every Day Miracles

"Every day we are engaged in a miracle which we don't even
recognize: A blue sky, white clouds,
green leaves, the curious eyes of a child,
our own two eyes.
All is a miracle."
~ Thich Nhat Hanh

Sometimes we find it difficult to recognize the beautiful, wonderful,
and miraculous things happening around us every day.
We get easily distracted by work, social obligations, technology, and life's routine, so much so
that we forget about life's true pleasures.
A beautiful blue sky, a soft breeze carrying the scent of spring flowers, the gentle warmth
of the sun, a smile from a stranger....these are everyday miracles that touch
us on a deeper level than we might recognize.
Take the time and make a promise to yourself
to stop and appreciate life's every day miracles.
Take a deep breath, exhale, and recognize that you yourself are a miracle.

"I learned that courage was not the absence of fear,
 but the triumph over it.
The brave man is not he who does not feel afraid,
but he who conquers that fear."
~ Nelson Mandela

Fearing the difficult things that come our way is not a sign of weakness.
It is only natural to fear the unknown, but within each of us is the ability to conquer that fear with determination, strength, and courage. Courage is the ability to look fear in the face, recognize it as a challenge, and push through it to achieve what we think is impossible.

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
Wishing strength and love to all the courageous women battling this disease, and to those that have loved and lost sisters, friends, and mothers to breast cancer.
