January Designer Focus: Etten Eller by Christina Bloom

Chrisitna Bloom, also known as "Tini", is the brain child behind the creative jewelry line, Etten Eller. Inspired by natural settings throughout the world to images from favorite films and personal past times, designer Tini Bloom crafts jewelry with an eye for detail. Each piece feels like a keepsake heirloom and, in keeping with her appreciation of history, is named after a date significant to the designer.

Bloom treats gold-filled and sterling chains by oxidizing and distressing, then asymmetrically places intricate watch parts throughout. Each necklace and pendant is named with a date (when Amelia Earhart went missing, when Dylan went electric) to reinforce the idea of timestamps as memory markers.
Designer Cristina Bloom is a master at transforming industrial pieces into pretty, pretty jewelry. After all, most pieces flaunting mechanical parts are clunky and masculine, with their gritty appeal rooted in the Steampunk movement. Bloom’s Etten Eller line takes a deliciously different turn, presenting ethereal selections that are airy and refined, with a decidedly feminine twist
