The Fight Against Cancer

During the month of October McMullen is showing our support in the fight against breast cancer by raising funds for the Charlotte Maxwell Complementary Clinic. The Charlotte Maxwell Complementary Clinic (CMCC) is a landmark public health clinic that has been providing free alternative medicine and social services to low income women with cancer since 1991. Currently serving over 800 women, programs include hands on treatments such as massage, acupuncture and herbs, as well as organic foods, interpretation, transportation, exercise classes, emergency funds and counseling. CMCC's programs are designed to assist women in completing their conventional cancer treatments and increasing their chances of long term survival. Support a woman battling cancer and poverty today, support CMCC.

Friends, Fashion, and Fabulous Fare Party

On Thursday, June 10, McMullen was happy to host an evening of food, wine, friends, and shopping at our Grand Avenue boutique. In collaboration with the 2010 Spring Fling, proceeds from ticket sales and 10% of every purchase were donated to Piedmont schools.

Thanks to hostesses Alex Conroy, Karen Ellis, Martha Linhares, Sarah Pearson, Michelle Saunders, Ellen Wilson, and Kathleen Winters, as well as everyone who attended, the event was a resounding success. With the indefatigably affable David Crombie at the bar and delicious appetizers and desserts from Summer Kitchen's Paul Arenstam and Charlene Reis decking the tables, there was no shortage of fun or festivity for the evening.
