Ports 1961 Fall Trunk Show
Ever since its debut at McMullen in Spring 2009, Ports 1961 has consistently taken our breath away. Known for producing classic, structured pieces with a romantic and modern twist, designer Tia Cibani creates clothing to accomodate a woman's lifestyle where "elegance must meet her everyday needs." Cibani approaches this goal with a wordly, international perspective and a desire to communicate an imaginative story through her collection. This Fall, Cibani explores a world in which the technological coexists with the natural, venturing into "a realm that is rooted in the past yet reaches for the future." The product of this exploration is a collection that is simultaneously modern and classic. Combining contrasting textiles and adding abstract structural flourishes to simple shapes, Cibani celebrates yesterday while embracing tomorrow.
We are proud to feature this elegant and innovative collection on July 13th and 14th at McMullen on Grand Avenue. We hope you'll join us!

Kathy Kamei Trunk Show
About the Designer: Kathy Kamei
"The most important thing I have learned to do is to trust my inner voice," says Kathy Kamei, designer and CEO of the line of jewelry that bears her name, "and if I can create a piece of jewelry that inspires a person to break from the pack and celebrate their own uniqueness, that is the most exciting thing I can ever hope to do in my work."
Kamei's journey to create her company began with a courageous trip she took to Bali with her two daughters. "The Balinese are the most beautiful human beings I have ever encountered." Says Kamei, whose six-month excursion turned into a nine year romance with the land. "I had never seen such heart, love, spirit and graciousness expressed in a community."
Before Kamei left the island, she created her line of jewelry, hand-crafted in Bali by artisans. From pendants which encourage us to open our hearts, to earrings which remind us to be mindful, the message of each piece reaches toward spiritual fulfillment.
