After a bit of back and forth, it becomes clear that what Henry, who lives in Paris and speaks charming English, means is Ivy League, and that he is wildly enthusiastic about Brooks Brothers embroidered country-club pants, brightly hued cable knits, and comfortable khakis.
Taking a break from preparing his pre-fall collection, the designer agreed to visit a few proto-American shops and share with Vogue.com his impressions of classic American fashion. At Carven, Henry has built a reputation for possessing a perfect understanding of the kinds of clothes cool, young French girls want to wear for work and play, but what does he make of the brands trying to do the same thing for their customers stateside? ...click here to read more
